If you’re moving for work, you should also ask if your employer can help you sell your home.

How do I find a new house in a new town?

The best way to buy a house in a new town is to actually take a trip there and explore some different neighborhoods. Consider your nice to have, must-haves, and deal breakers and share that list with your real estate agent. Take some time to walk and drive around the neighborhood before you decide if it’s the right fit for you. When you’re deciding what you can afford, you should also consider the difference in cost of living between your new town and your old one.
